Now that song is in your head isn't it?
Well, we have that sorted now. Let's get down to the real order of the day - a fun little upcycle I did on two very odd looking but rather cute looking pieces.
The one mind you my father made in grade 7 - yup grade 7 folks. I think I achieved Spice Girls sticker collection level 100 and this man had made a table. I'd be proud if my child meme's . That's all I'm saying.
Anywoodles, my mum had generously passed two very squanky but neat looking pieces on two my array of mixed matched items in my house and I did what I do best. Give them a little lick of paint and see what happens while I do it.

Heres what I used ;
For Daddy-o's Country Buck Table
Wood Stain- I used Newdens in Mahogany for the top
Chalked white Paint - I used one from Rust-oleum
Topped it off with a lovely clear varnish from Prodec

Other then the one leg being what I suspect is a old wood broom the table itself is beautiful. And literally just needed a good little varnish. Some chalk paint and a little sanding.
As for Mamma bears teletubby inspired greenshelf
I used:
The same wood stain for the top
My at the moment varnish - Prodec to finish it off
With this little erm gem we needed a lot more sanding. I wasn't huge fan of the green. Especially not on this shape of furniture.
Interestingly, I couldn't get all the green off, turns out the wood and green were in some sort of love affair I had no idea about. But it did make out for a very cool effect with the wood stain which now is a lovely twist on a shabby cheeky feature shelf. Which personally I see less as a fail and more as something I sort of uniquely like about this piece.
I also dipped the legs rose gold. To do this you need to be able to stand the furniture on a type of rack to let any excess paint drip through .
Begin by masking tape where you want the the dip to end. Then taking each leg carefully dip into the paint pod and place this onto your rack and let the excess paint drip off and finally try.
Make sure the paint the you are using is running enough to make sure that it doesn't run off and form a shape and the edge of the leg. If you find your paint is thick just pour a little thinners in it (depending if its oil or water based) and see how it takes.
Tadddaa cool little art deco legs. To a really interesting little number.
If you liked this one, give us a share, a thumbs up, and if you tried this then let us know. We'd love to hear your tales.
