Now if you've been following our Farm Fresh Post this is part three- The White Wash. I love a little white wash . Especially with the right grain of wood. It's a little surprise because you never know how it's going to take and man it always seems to come out just right! Especially if you are going for a country styled look.
Check our shopping list at the bottom of our post! For full details see the write up below. Or Just check our quick video here :)
If you didn't need to strip just make sure that you have prepared your wood project by giving it a light sand and wiping it down with a damp cloth. Once its dry you can begin with this next step.
The White Wash

To mix the white wash it's pretty simple. So I wanted a very faint wash , and to get that I took one part chalk white paint , to 2,5 parts of water and I mixed that well.
If this is too thick for you and you want it a bit more transparent just keep adding water. I would have a spare piece of wood and just paint it on to test the colour.
I painted two-three coats and you need to paint quickly in some parts as it does tend to drip (its a little runny) . So you need to be very careful.
Top Tip- So once I had painted it I noticed that I wasn't too happy with the edges of the cabinet. So I did end up taking plain white chalk paint and painting just the edges. This enhanced the overall effect without adding a negative contrast or being overbearing. It really complimented the overall effect .

Once you are happy add some varnish- I used armour by Granny B's. This stuff is the BOMB DIGGITY ! That's right B.O.M.B. D.I.G.G.I.T.Y.!
