I had to start off this blog post with a little reference to my gorgeous little models . Lets be honest - They basically made the entire post right? am I right?

Anyway, this little upcycle is a fun one. Now I'm almost certain majority of folks have a kidney bean table lying around their house. May they have owned one at one stage, their folks have maybe had one. And this bad boy has a range of uses. I've seen it be a tea stool, foot stool, garage tool. You name it - but its fair to say that it isn't an uncommon piece of furniture. Oh no- quiet the opposite in fact
I like many have been quiet fortunate enough to have been bestowed this lucky piece and as with majority of my home I decided to give it a little bit of a fun spin with a more edgy art deco feel with some geometric lines.
Here's what I used:
Chalked White Pained
Fired Earth Rose Gold Paint
Pavco varnish
220 Grit Sandpaper
Masking Tape
Newspaper
Grit that can stand off the floor
After giving it a nice sand and finding some beautiful striations in the wood . I wanted to keep it an accentuated by placing a geometric line across it .
At the bottom I did my new favorite dipping technique into some of Fired earths rose gold paint. And left this to dry on some grid. Its important you let the paint run through a grid to make sure that any excess paint doesn't pool at the end of your furniture leg. Take each leg and measure where you'd like the dip to end. Then masking tape this off. Once this is complete take the piece of furniture and gently dip it into your paint can and then place it onto your grit to dry.
O
.
Once dried completely. Finish off with a clear coat of varnish and Voila a fresh take on a Kidney bean table.
