Today is a special day for our family - and this isn't really for me , its not for anyone but my little brother.
So as you can probably tell I put a lot of love and thought into every gift I give. After loosing Zane this day is a bit of a heart breaker because I never know if I ever let him know how much I truly loved him. And as I get older there is so much I want to give him that I can't. So I promised each year to try 'gift' on this day. Just in honour of him.
That's part of the reason why I believe so much in customized gifting and spending that extra second to show someone you truly love, listen, and adore them. In this world, choose to be EXTRA, always EXTRA
So this post isn't to show you the 'how to do' as I usually do. This post is to aimed to show you how to be extra. How to deal with grief in a crafty way. So this post is to tell you the story of this garage and why I did what I did and I'm giving it the way I am.
And more importantly - This is for you my boy Happy Birthday ! If you want to read the story behind this post please read below.
So when we were kids, we grew up funnily in the house I live in now (a place I never thought I believed I'd live in but things changed_ . Living on a farm we had a pretty amazing childhood but toys were limited - mainly because the closest town wasn't exactly around the corner. So one christmas my brother and I were gifted with these beautiful wooden creations, I got a dollhouse (which I adored) and my brother this garage.
He played with this thing day and night. Hammered nails into it, really went to town . And later on it must have really made an impression on his future car rallying career. Where he fuelled his passion and love.
But as it happens and what happens with most toys they either get given away or get placed away in the attic/ store room to slowly die off. And in this case I stumbled upon this little treasure .
My dad has told me about his dreams of if the farm . If the accident never happened. And the one thing is this garage. This garage that they would share. And if there is anything that I could possibly even try and gift is I could try and give him that, even though its just the wooden toy he gave his son all those years ago.
If there was anything I could give you, it would be to give Dad a big smile and a warm heart.
So I hope you guys enjoy this one, most importantly I hope he does -
